CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA-William E. Johnson, III, Chesterfield County's deputy county administrator for Management Services, is returning to his former position as city manager of College Park, Georgia. "I have enjoyed my time here in Chesterfield and will always value the working relationships we developed over the past 15 months. Chesterfield is truly a first choice community with a first class leadership team that I have been proud to be a part of," he said. College Park never filled the city manager position since Johnson came to Chesterfield County 15 months ago. "The fact that College Park never replaced me and I have always struggled with not completing many of the exciting projects I began, I believe is a sign that I am supposed to be there," Johnson said.
County Administrator James J. L. Stegmaier praised Johnson for his accomplishments while at the county. "William brought a new energy and excellent insights to the Leadership Team. We will miss him, and we know that the citizens of College Park will welcome his return," Stegmaier said. Johnson's last day with the county will be July 2. A national search will be conducted to fill the position he will be vacating.
