Five Midlothian elementary school boys competed on a Lego League Team at the FIRST®LEGO® League Richmond Tournament held at the Science Museum of VA on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Their team, Tobor Fanatics, sponsored by FlexiCell , won first place for the Mission Competition and won first place overall Division I and will be competing in the State competitions, which will be held at James Madison University on Dec. 4 and 5.

The team members, pictured left to right are: Jason Hickman (4th grade Greenfield ES), Sam Garbera (5th grade Watkins ES), Grady Bastaich (5th grade Watkins ES), Noah Smith (5th grade Watkins ES) and Austin Bancroft (5th grade Watkins ES).

FIRST®LEGO® League (FLL) Introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.
