Over 75 worn, tattered and faded American flags were collected from the public this summer. The flags were recently turned over to Boy Scout Troop 2815. According to the troop, the flags will be formally retired during a ceremony this fall. Since 2009, JES has collected from the public around 500 American flags that are no longer fit for display and has provided for proper disposal and “farewell.”
