Flying Squirrels to give back to fans

The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, will feature 28 fan giveaway items spread throughout the home schedule. The slate of giveaways will include traditional ballpark favorites such as a Wooden Bat Giveaway (Sunday, Aug. 1), and be joined by useable items like a Metal Lunchbox Giveaway (Sunday, Aug. 15).

Among the traditional ballpark favorites are Wooden Bats (Aug. 1), a Logo Baseball Series presented by Coca-Cola (April 16, June 28, July 20), a Floppy Hat (June 16), a Mascot Bobblehead presented by HCA Virginia Health System (Aug. 11), a Team Photo Giveaway (April 30) and a Team Baseball Card Sheet (Aug. 24).

Sundays are geared towards kids at The Diamond, and each Sunday home game (excluding July 4, June 20 and Sept. 5) will feature a giveaway for all kids 14 and under. Those giveaways will include; a Pillow Case presented by HCA Virginia Health System (April 18), a Light Switch Plate presented by The Richmond Times-Dispatch (May 2), a Nite Lite presented by Coca-Cola Classic (May 16), a Soccer Ball (May 30), a Flying Squirrels Cape (July 18) and a Metal Lunchbox (Aug. 15).

For Father’s Day, June 20, barbeque aprons will be given away courtesy of HCA Virginia Health systems to all fans ages 15 and up. July 4th and September 5th will feature post-game fireworks, and for Father’s Day, BBQ Aprons presented by HCA Virginia Health System will be given away on June 20th to all fans 15 and up.

The Flying Squirrels will also provide giveaways targeted to worthy causes. Those nights include a two-night “Going Green” event with a Reusable Grocery Bags Giveaway presented by International Truck Sales of Richmond on April 20 and a Green Hat Giveaway presented by Central Virginia Waste Management Authority on April 21. The team will promote Breast Cancer Awareness with a Pink Visor Giveaway presented by HCA Virginia Health System on May 15 and Military Appreciation with a Camouflage Cap Giveaway presented by Budweiser on June 19.
