The Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering two opportunities for adults to get moving at Rockwood Park this summer. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-11 a.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. (weather permitting), come out and try pickleball. This popular sport combines tennis, badminton and ping pong, and is played on a badminton-sized court. Interested players should meet at the Rockwood Park Tennis Complex, courts 7-9. For more information, contact Linda Scott, (804) 683-8481 or pickleball4all@aol.com, or Judy Jones, (804)751-4135. To learn more about pickleball, visit www.usapa.org.
Adults seeking more energetic activity can sign up for Summer Survival Boot Camp (course 21797). Boot Camp is an outdoor group-exercise class that mixes cardio training, strength training and core conditioning. This class is led by a certified personal trainer. Participants should bring a set of hand-held weights (3-10 pounds), a yoga mat, water and a pair of running shoes. This course is $60, and meets at Rockwood Park, field 1, Saturdays, June 11-July 23, 6-7 a.m. For more information, or to enroll, contact Mark Pinney, (804) 748-1992.
